Stone Photography Information
Each gemstone is photographed under indoor 5500K LED lighting and presented as truthfully and accurately as possible. When available, videos are captured in natural lighting to offer an additional view of how the stone appears outdoors. With nearly 8 years of experience photographing gemstones, Brianna aims to represent each stone in a way that feels honest and true to life. In some instances, additional angles or outdoor footage may be limited due to weather, or lighting conditions. Select listings may be updated with additional imagery over time. Brianna’s Approach to Sourcing
Exceptional gemstones and diamonds are the foundation of Lavender Creek Gems, and Brianna’s approach to sourcing them is deeply personal. Over the years, she has cultivated relationships with some of the most respected gemstone suppliers, cutters, and lapidaries in the industry, providing access to exceptional material from around the world.
Cutting
When evaluating a stone, Brianna’s attention is drawn first to the quality of the cutting. A well-cut stone brings out the very best a gemstone has to offer, maximizing brilliance, enhancing color, and creating the light performance that gives a stone its visual impact. Even the finest material can fall short if it has not been cut well, making cutting one of the most important considerations in Brianna’s selection process.
Clarity
The vast majority of gemstones offered by Lavender Creek Gems are what is known in the trade as “eye clean,” meaning inclusions are not visible to the naked eye when the gemstone is viewed without magnification.
Because Brianna works with exceptional material, eye-clean gemstones are generally the standard rather than the exception. However, natural gemstones are unique, and on rare occasions a stone may be selected specifically because of a naturally occurring characteristic that contributes to its beauty, rarity, or individuality. Examples may include fine silk in sapphire, distinctive growth patterns, or other natural features that make a gemstone particularly special.
Color & Presence
Color follows closely behind. Whether evaluating a diamond or a colored gemstone, Brianna looks for stones with rich, captivating color and strong visual appeal. Only after these qualities have been considered does she evaluate the stone as a whole, considering whether it possesses the presence and individuality that distinguish truly exceptional material.
