Will it tarnish?

Continuum® Sterling Silver is significantly more tarnish-resistant than traditional sterling, but all silver alloys can naturally oxidize over time. The benefit of this alloy is that any darkening occurs more slowly, more lightly, and is extremely easy to polish away.

What to expect:

  • With regular wear, most customers experience minimal tarnish
  • Any oxidation is typically surface-level and wipes off quickly
  • Storing your ring with the included anti-tarnish strip greatly slows oxidation

How to refresh the shine:

A simple sterling silver polishing cloth will restore brightness within seconds–no chemical dips or harsh cleaners needed.

Care Instructions
  • Wear regularly: Natural oils from your skin help keep silver bright and slow oxidation.
  • Avoid chemicals: Remove your ring before swimming, cleaning, or using products containing bleach, ammonia, or sulfur.
  • Lotions & perfumes: Apply these first and allow them to dry before putting your ring on.
  • Water exposure: Occasional handwashing is fine, but remove before hot tubs, pools, or prolonged soaking.
  • Storage: When not in use, store your ring in the provided pouch or box to protect it from moisture and air exposure.
  • Polishing: If the metal naturally darkens over time, a gentle silver polishing cloth will quickly restore its brightness without harming the finish.

Anti-Tarnish Strip Included:

Each ring is shipped with an anti-tarnish strip placed inside the packaging. This strip absorbs environmental sulfur and moisture, helping to prevent natural oxidation during storage. If you won’t be wearing your ring for a period of time, leave the strip inside your pouch or box to maintain the metal’s clarity and shine.
